Volunteers
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support Family Hub sessions and trips.
What you'll do
As a volunteer, you will:
- welcome and support children, parents and carers
- help staff deliver activities at Family Hubs and on trips
- support children and young people aged 0 to 16 years
- help families find the right member of staff or service
- signpost families to other Family Hub services and local opportunities

I volunteer at Petteril Bank Family Hub, which is local to me. I chose to volunteer because I wanted to give something back to my community and support local children and families.
I really enjoy volunteering because it is fun, rewarding, and gives me the opportunity to be involved in what is happening at the hub. I enjoy helping local families and learning new things all the time through this hands-on role. It is also great experience that could help me in future employment.
I have particularly enjoyed the training opportunities and being part of the team. Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose, and it is wonderful to see the difference you can make. The smiles and laughter from the children and families are priceless.
The staff are very welcoming, easy to get along with, and they genuinely listen to and value my suggestions. I know that if I ever needed support, they would be there to listen and help.
To anyone thinking about volunteering with Family Hubs, I would say: give it a go - you might just love it!
