Contact the Neurodiversity and Emotional Wellbeing Service
During the call
If we identify serious concerns or risks to a child, someone in the family, or others, we will make a referral to Cumberland Children’s Advice and Support Service (CCASS) and share information with your GP. We will always listen to you, explain what we are doing, and tell you why.
If your situation is long term or too complex for early help, we may offer a one‑time conversation with the professional who knows your family best, such as a SENCO, health visitor or social worker. This helps make sure support comes from the team already working with you.
If there are no serious risks
We will ask what matters to you, talk about your experiences and agree your top 3 unmet needs. Examples might be:
- I need to understand how neurodiversity or possible neurodiversity affects me
- I need to know why my child finds it hard to eat certain food
- I need school to understand why my daughter keeps leaving class
How we may support you next
Once we understand your 3 needs, we will explain how we plan to support you. This might include:
- sharing helpful information or website links
- recommending workshops or groups in the community or online
- putting you in touch with other services
- arranging a conversation with you, your child and school about strengths and needs (if appropriate)
