Support for parents

Women and late diagnosis

Many women, especially mothers, are diagnosed as neurodiverse later in life. Some were misdiagnosed or missed altogether when they were younger.

These women may have spent years masking their differences or feeling isolated. This can lead to stress, low self-esteem, and sometimes mental health problems.

In some cases, what looked like mental illness was actually the result of unmet neurodiverse needs. Understanding this can help women get the right support and help them support their children better too.
