Emotional wellbeing

Some children think, feel, or sense the world differently because their brains are wired differently. This is called being neurodivergent.

They might get overwhelmed by noise, lights, or busy places. They may also have fewer people who understand or support them. Their brains can feel emotions more strongly and feelings change more quickly.

Recognising that all brains are different is called neurodiversity. ‘Neurodiverse’ people means everyone.
