Maternity care services
Maternity care (also called antenatal care) is the support you get from health professionals during pregnancy.
As soon as you think you're pregnant, contact a GP or midwife. They’ll help you, your partner or surrogate have a safe pregnancy and birth.
You can also refer yourself to a midwife by contacting your local maternity clinic.
Use the NHS Find a GP if you are not registered with one.
Families living in Cumberland are supported by one of the following Health Authorities:
- Maternity Services in North and West Cumbria - North Cumbria Integrated Care
- Maternity Services in South Cumbria - University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay
What to expect from your maternity care

- get advice on the importance of vaccinations

- book appointments
- view your healthcare records
