Being Active 11+
The NHS recommends an hour of physical exercise every day for the under 18s.
Top tips to encourage your child to become more active
- Pick something they enjoy
- Advise them to work out whether they prefer to train alone or with a group
- Look into the sports clubs offered after school, as some of these will probably be free
- Search for gyms in the area; some might offer special, reduced-price memberships for young people
- Take a look on YouTube for exercises they can do at home
- Talk to a PE teacher in a school for advice on improving their fitness
- Go to exercise classes together. Walk together. Get active as a family
