Visiting a Family Hub

What to expect when you visit a Family Hub and the support available for families.

A Family Hub is a place where families can access different services in one location.

It brings support together so families can get help more easily, without needing to contact several different organisations.

Family Hubs help families find support early, build confidence and manage challenges.

What happens when you visit

When you visit a Family Hub, you can access a range of support for your family. This may include:

  • parenting workshops and support groups - sessions to help with parenting, child development and behaviour
  • health and wellbeing services - support such as health advice, nutrition guidance and mental health support
  • childcare and learning support - help finding childcare and resources to support children’s learning and development
  • advice and referrals - guidance and help to access other services, including more specialist support if needed

How Family Hubs support families

Family Hubs support both children and the adults who care for them.

They help by providing:

  • convenience and ease, with services in one place
  • support that looks at the whole family's needs
  • help at every stage, from pregnancy through to the teenage years
  • early support to prevent problems becoming more serious

Working together to support you

Family Hubs bring together different professionals to support families. This may include:

  • family help workers
  • health visitors
  • mental health practitioners
  • education specialists

Working together means families can get joined-up support in one place.
